How to delete previously added Bonus for any employee?

A bonus is an extra payment given by the employer for specific reasons. Employers add the bonus type and amount as part of the Cost to Company (CTC) calculation. 

However, there may be cases where the employer needs to edit the bonus type, amount, or date before paying it out to the employee. Additionally, there may be situations where the bonus needs to be deleted from the employee's CTC. For instance, if an employee is terminated before the completion of their probation period due to poor performance, they may not be eligible for the joining bonus. In such cases, the bonus can be deleted from the Keka portal and excluded from the full and final (FnF) settlement.


Here's how you can delete a bonus on Keka.


You can only delete a bonus if the status of that bonus is pending and is being assigned to be paid out at a later date.


Deleting the bonus for an individual employee

 Go to the search bar and search for the employee (1). Open the employee profile and go to the Finances tab (2)


Select Pay (3) from the tabs and go to the Salary tab (4).

Here in the Salary Timeline section, you can see the current salary and the bonuses assigned to the employee currently. 


Click on the arrow to expand the section to show the breakup of the various bonuses currently assigned to the employee. 


From the expanded view, select the bonus you want to delete and click on the three dots corresponding to that bonus. Select the Delete Bonus option from the drop-down.


Click confirm on the Delete Bonus window. This will delete the bonus that was assigned to the employee. 


Deleting bonuses in bulk

To delete the bonuses assigned to the various employees in bulk, go to 



Go to Payroll (1) >> Payroll Admin (2). 


 Go to the Operations (3) tab, and from the Overrides (Salary Components/Contributions/TDS) section, click on Bulk Delete Bonus (4)


From the Bulk Delete Bonus window, select the relevant Pay Group (5) in case you have more than one configured. From the list of employees, select the employees (6) for whom you want to delete the bonuses. Click on Delete (7) once you have selected the employees. 


Click on Confirm in the Confirm Delete window. This will delete all the bonuses that are assigned to those employees. 

To delete a previously processed bonus you will have to rollback the payroll till the month the bonus has been processed.
