Organizations may need employees to work a minimum number of hours to ensure they can meet the demands of the business. Also setting a minimum number of working hours can ensure that employees receive a consistent and fair compensation package.

Keka allows you to configure settings to mark employees as absent if they have not completed the minimum number of working hours.

To do so, navigate to Time Attend (1), then go to Attendance tracking (2) and open the Tracking Policies (3) tab.

Select the relevant policy and go to the Versions (4) section. Now click on the Update icon (5) to open the Update Tracking Policy window.

In the Basic Information step, choose the effective date for the new settings, which will create a new version of the policy. Click on Save and Continue to proceed to the No Attendance section.

In this section, select Yes for 'Do you want system to automatically deduct leave when there is no attendance logged?'

Next, under 'Do you consider employee to be present, only when they complete a minimum number of work hours in a day?', you can set a minimum number of Gross/Effective Hours that an employee has to work to be considered present for the day.

After setting the desired number of hours, click on Save & Continue and then you can exit this window.

And that's all! If you have any more doubts regarding attendance and leave configuration, feel free to check out the other articles on this portal.
