If you want to use a biometric system, you need a special type of IP address called a "static IP address". You have to manually set this up, and it won't change even if you connect to a different network. But, if you change the network, you may not be able to reach the biometric device. A "dynamic IP address" is different because it is automatically assigned and changes when you connect to a new network.
