Resource management - Enhancements

Keka PSA's Resource Management feature now has new enhancements that allow you to finetune your resource allocation and resource management.

Here are some of the key changes to the resource management features on Keka PSA.

1. Resource planning and utlilization - changes in how total allocated hours are calculated.

The total allocated hours of any resource that is assigned to a project on Keka PSA will now exclude any hours falling under weekly offs. This allows you to get a more accurate understanding of how many effective hours are available of each resource while excluding the days when they are not working. This allows for better resource planning in your projects.

To add weekly offs, go to Projects (1) from your left navigation pane and select the Resources (2) tab. Go to Settings (3). Here, click on Edit Settings.

This will take you to the Edit Resource Settings window. You can add the weekly offs in your organization here in the Week Offs field. Click on the drop-down and select the week offs from the list. Click Save to make changes to the settings.

Weekly offs will now be excluded from the allocated hours for any resource.

2. Start date and end date of allocation on resource planner page:

You can now see the start and end dates of an existing allocation for any resource in your organization from the resource planner page. You can now quickly view resource availability for the dates you are looking for. This feature along with the other new features allow you to manage the resource planning and allocation more precisely with Keka PSA.

To see this in action, navigate to the resource planner on Keka PSA. Go to Project (1) from the left navigation panel and select the Resources tab (2). Go to the Resource Planner tab (3) here.

Scroll down to the resource planner timeline and you can now see the allocation percentages against each resource with a visual representation of the allocation and the date ranges for which the allocation is active for.

The width of the bar represents the allocation %. If the width is lower, this would mean an allocation % that's less than 100.

Clicking on these allocation bars will also now show you a tooltip with important information regarding the allocation.

Those are the exciting new features available to you in your Keka PSA portal. More questions? Do reach out to our product experts today!
